In 1663, the post office was officially established in Brazil. In 1892, the postal administration was established, and branch representative offices were established in each state of Brazil. On August 1, 1843, Brazilian stamps were officially issued for the first time. The Brazilian telegraph office was established in 1852. In 1900, it began to handle international parcel business. International air mail began in 1921. The night air post was opened in 1974. In 1978, the Brazilian postal network was established in various towns in Brazil, and the Brazilian postal management institute was established. In 1980, the Brazilian postal and telegraph museum was completed in Brasilia. In 1997, the State Secretariat of post was set up in the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Brazil. Brazil issued its first fragrance stamp in the world in 1999. In 2000, Brazil opened the convenient export postal service.
